Egg laying & nutrition
Problem solving around reduced production, shell quality, body condition, feed and calcium.
Service overview
Start with the question.
Build the right next step.
Every farm, animal and situation is different. These sections provide a useful starting point; the veterinarian will tailor recommendations to the case in front of us.
01What this service covers
Assessment of reduced or abnormal egg production, shell quality, body condition and feeding. We consider age, season and light, moult, stress, broodiness, ration balance, calcium access, parasites and illness.
02When to contact us
Contact us when production falls unexpectedly across the flock, shells remain soft or abnormal, birds lose condition, or a hen strains, has a swollen abdomen, walks abnormally or appears acutely unwell.
03What to expect
We review the complete ration and management—not only supplements—and examine affected birds. Depending on findings, we may recommend feed correction, diagnostic testing, imaging or treatment; some reproductive conditions in individual hens require urgent care.
