01What this service covers
Examination of an individual chicken with changes in appetite, activity, posture, breathing, droppings, weight, comb colour, mobility or laying, while assessing whether the signs may represent a flock-level or reportable disease concern.
02When to contact us
Separate and call about a bird that is fluffed, weak, not eating, losing weight, breathing abnormally, persistently diarrheic, unable to stand or rapidly worsening. Multiple sick birds, sudden deaths or marked respiratory or neurologic signs require prompt veterinary contact.
03What to expect
Bring the bird in a secure, well-ventilated carrier and provide flock, feed, laying and exposure history. Examination may lead to fecal testing, swabs, imaging, treatment, isolation guidance or post-mortem testing; food-animal drug and egg-withdrawal rules must be considered.
