Service overview
Start with the question.
Build the right next step.
Every farm, animal and situation is different. These sections provide a useful starting point; the veterinarian will tailor recommendations to the case in front of us.
01What this service covers
Urgent on-farm assessment for established equine clients, including colic, wounds, eye problems, choke, acute lameness, foaling concerns, injury and sudden illness.
02When to contact us
Call immediately for persistent colic signs, uncontrolled bleeding, breathing difficulty, a painful or closed eye, suspected fracture, severe non-weight-bearing lameness, neurologic signs, choke, difficult foaling or rapid deterioration. Do not rely on email for emergencies.
03What to expect
The on-call veterinarian will triage by phone and give immediate safety instructions while arranging the appropriate response. On farm we stabilize and examine the horse, discuss prognosis and options, and recommend treatment, monitoring, referral or humane euthanasia according to the findings.
