01What this service covers
A structured effort to identify and localize the source of pain or gait abnormality. It can include history, inspection, palpation, hoof testers, movement on suitable surfaces, flexion tests and diagnostic nerve or joint blocks when indicated.
02When to contact us
Book when a horse is visibly lame, repeatedly short or uneven, reluctant in one direction, losing performance, changing behaviour under saddle or not returning as expected after rest. Sudden severe non-weight-bearing lameness requires an urgent call.
03What to expect
Have the horse clean, with a safe firm area and suitable space for movement; the veterinarian may also ask to see tack, ridden work or previous records. Localization usually comes before imaging, and complex cases may require more than one visit or referral for advanced imaging.
