Barn design & ventilation
Veterinary input for new facilities and retrofits, including cow flow, comfort, ventilation assessments and practical barn-design decisions.
Service overview
Start with the question.
Build the right next step.
Every farm, animal and situation is different. These sections provide a useful starting point; the veterinarian will tailor recommendations to the case in front of us.
01What this service covers
Veterinary input on new dairy facilities and retrofits with attention to cow comfort, lying and standing space, cow and people flow, feed and water access, special-needs areas, heat load, moisture and air quality. Ventilation assessment considers how fresh air enters, moves through and leaves the barn in different seasons.
02When to contact us
Involve us early in a new build or renovation, before layout decisions become expensive to change. An assessment is also useful when cows avoid stalls or areas, bedding stays damp, condensation or odour persists, respiratory problems recur, or heat stress affects comfort and performance.
03What to expect
We begin with your herd, building constraints and goals, then walk the facility or review plans with you and the project team. You receive prioritized observations and practical design questions; specialized engineering measurements or contractor input may still be required for final specifications.
